Cookbook Shelf

Ryan and I have been in nesting mode for a while now, trying to make space for all the baby stuff we anticipate will be flooding the apartment. Changing our second bedroom from an office to a nursery has necessitated a lot of reorganizing. And we’re also losing a bookcase in that room, which means we’ve been culling out books that we don’t really need anymore and finding new homes for the ones that we want to keep.
Ryan’s a better organizer than I am, and he’s also pretty handy. When we first moved into our apartment he built a shelf above the sink so that we’d have more storage space. It was housing canisters that we never really used, and I woke up the other morning to see that Ryan had surprised me by transforming it into a cookbook shelf!
I’m so in love with this that I just had to show it off. It’s much more convenient to have the books in the room where I actually use them, and it looks so much better than what was there before. And just in case you’re interested in any of the books photographed above, here’s a list for you. As I said, this isn’t my entire collection, but these are some of my favorites…
Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World
Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar
Native Foods Restaurant Cookbook
The Ultimate Uncheese Cookbook

Love the new bookshelf! I love having mine in the kitchen where it’s convenient.
I would love to see photos of your nursery when it’s all set up!
We’re in nesting mode here too and although we’re being able to have more space in the apartment, baby boy won’t have a nursery room, just a space in our bedroom and I’m still struggling to imagine how to make it perfect for him!
I have a new cookbook shelf too!!
The new shelf looks great! It does make such a difference having your cookbooks where you use them. I don’t have a space for mine in the kitchen and sometimes it’s frustrating. BTW, your kitchen scale is gorgeous.
I organize by height too!
Not sure if it is in rotation, but, Hearty Vegan Meals for Monster Appetites…highly recommended! The mozzarella recipe will change pizza forever.
