Vegan Bake Sales for Haiti
UPDATE: Thanks so much to everyone who came out to help support the cause! In addition to Doctors Without Borders, we’ll also be donating a portion of our sales to the organization FilterPure. We learned about FilterPure from Ryan’s sister, Whitney, who personally knows the people who started this amazing organization. Check them out if you get a chance. Learning about what they do made me so grateful for something as simple as clean water, a thing that so many of us take for granted, and something that is currently vital for Haiti’s recovery.
We’ve all been seeing the tragic images coming out of Haiti and hearing how absolutely desperate they are for aid right now. If you’re looking for a way to help, you can either attend or donate to one of the several vegan bake sales and events being planned around the country to raise funds to help the Haitians. If you don’t see one in your area, you can always get a few people together to organize one yourself.
Since we do our own version of a vegan bake sale every Sunday at the Hollywood Farmers’ Market, we decided to donate a portion of our sales for the next two Sundays (Jan. 24th & 31st) to Doctors Without Borders for medical relief in Haiti. If you’re in LA, please come out to our booth on Cosmo Street any time between 8AM-1PM either Sunday to help the good cause.
And on the 31st, after you stop by C’est La V, you can also head over to locali where they will be donating a portion of their own sales that day, as well as hosting a vegan bake sale for the same cause.
