Chocolate and Coconut Cupcakes

Just dropped off chocolate and coconut cupcakes with vanilla buttercream to Locali in Hollywood.  If you’re in the mood for some sweets for Memorial Day you can pick them up there, and don’t forget that you can always order cupcakes directly from C’est La V Bakeshop!  Enjoy the holiday weekend!

  1. These look delicious! Wish I could try one right now!

  2. Have I mentioned to you yet that I exercised extreme self-control rationing your awesome biscotti, having only 1 each morning with my coffee? Only crumbs are left, and now I am one sad panda.

  3. I’m so glad that you like them! I’ll have them at the Sherman Oaks farmers market tomorrow if you want some more…

  4. do you mind sharing what piping tip you used? I’ve been on the search for the right tip to create such an unusual and awesome look :)

  5. Hi, Monique! I used a large star tip to pipe these cupcakes.

  6. I am also interested to know what piping tip you used. The largest Star Tip I have is from Wilton and it’s the 1M. Is that big enough?

  7. Hi, Gerry! I’m not familiar with the Wilton tips, unfortunately, but the tip I used is an Aceto 829. Hope that helps!

  8. That’s great – thanks. I have been also trying to emulate that style of piped buttercream. It’s simple and elegant. Are those petite or mini cupcakes or the standard sized ones?
