Planned Parenthood Food Fare

Ryan and I just got back from the Planned Parenthood Food Fare where I gave out samples of snickerdoodles, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate almond and pistachio anise seed biscotti, and fudgy brownies.  I baked almost 1200 samples!  Needless to say we’re pretty exhausted, but it was a fun day, and we met some great people.  I think the best part of the day was the shock on people’s faces when we told them the products are all vegan.

We were also thrilled to find out that there was another vegan baker there!  Michelle of Sweet and Organic makes beautiful and delicious cakes.  If you’re in the LA area and need a cake, you have to contact her.  We also met Reginald of Jamagel (Jamaican flavored bagels).  I don’t know if they’re vegan or not, but he’s an incredibly nice guy and the flavors sounded really interesting.  We were excited to see that we were right next to Mom’s Products, Inc.  They make amazing Mediterranean appetizers, and we buy their products (flat-bread, hummus, and addictive lemon pita chips) almost every week at our local farmer’s market.  Finally, we got to meet Gail and Joel of Gelato Bar, which often has a dairy free offering of gelato at their adorable shop on Tujunga.

Most importantly, we got to contribute to Planned Parenthood, which is something that I’m very happy to support.  A special thanks to Joanne Grant for getting us a booth at this year’s fare!
